Graveside services for Dorothy H. Severson, 78, of East Moline, IL, formerly of Janesville, WI, will be 10:30 AM Friday at the Newark Township Cemetery, Rock County, WI. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd. East Moline, IL. Mrs. Severson died Saturday, March 19, 2005 at her home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to UMW of Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline, IL, or PEC Foundation, Hollandale, WI. Mrs. Severson was born August 23, 1926 in Bay City, MI, the daughter of Edward and Bessie (DeGeer) Coffell. She married Forrest Harter in 1945 in Florida. She later married Sanford Severson April 16, 1949 in Blanchardville, WI. He died October 2, 1999. Dorothy and Sanford owned and operated Severson Hardware in Hollandale, WI for many years. She loved her family and had especially enjoyed getting to know her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards and traveling. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and William J. Lauper of Silvis, IL; son, Eric Edward Severson of San Diego, CA; son-in-law (spouse) James (Sheri) Disrud, Beloit, WI; grandchildren (spouse), Jon (Romana) Disrud of San Antonio, TX, Amy (Randy) Woodstock of Evansville, WI, William M. (Christina) Lauper of San Diego, CA, Lisa (Charles) DeBates of Rock Island, IL, Michael (Sharon) Lauper of Colona, IL; 12 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Sanford Severson, daughter, Sonja Patricia Disrud, parents, step-mother, Sena Coffell, a sister and 4 brothers.
