Visitation for Dorothy Stang, 90, East Moline, is 11 AM - 1 PM Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where an Order of The Eastern Star Service will be held at 12:30 PM. Private family services and burial at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline will follow. Mrs. Stang died Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at the home of her daughter Darlene Christison in East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline or to Pathway Hospice. Dorothy Bain was born April 29, 1915 in Davenport, IA the daughter of Roy and LaVada (Malson) Bain. She married Wilbur Slack in 1933, and later married Samuel Stang, July 10, 1937 in Crown Point, IN. Dorothy's family was her highest priority, and she loved keeping track of her grandchildren. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline, and was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Canyon City, CO. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Sam, daughter Darlene Christison, East Moline, sons and daughters-in-law Charles and Judy Stang, Bettendorf, and Ronald and Peggy Slack, Ottawa, IL, seven grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and a great-great grandson.
