A celebration of life service for Dorothy M. Stone, 85, Rock Island, formerly of Hampton, is 11 AM Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, East Moline. Private interment services will be held at a later date. Mrs. Stone died Monday, December 11, 2006 at Trinity Medical Center Rock Island. A memorial fund has been established. Dorothy Tanner was born October 25, 1922 in Rock Island, the daughter of Hollis and Jennie (Huddleston) Tanner. She married Clarence "Rocky" Stone in June of 1940. He died in 1993. Dorothy had worked as a seamstress for a local interior designer. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Jim Finley, Arcadia, FL; sons and daughters-in-law, Phil Stone, Camden, SC, Ron and Amy Stone, Coal Valley, IL, Brian and Cindy Stone, Colona, IL; eight grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Beth Corporon, Las Vegas, NV.
