Dorothy L. Turf, 98, East Moline, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Funeral services are 11:30 AM Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is from 10 AM until 11 AM at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. A Rosary will be recited at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church.

Dorothy DeSmet was born on July 10, 1923 in Moline, the daughter of Camiel and Flavie (Clauw) DeSmet. She married Louis A. Turf on August 19, 1944 in Moline. He died October 15, 1999. Mrs. Turf worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" to help the war effort during WWII. Dorothy later worked as a sales clerk at Sears, Moline. She was a long time member of St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. She enjoyed playing bridge but her greatest joy was being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children; Daniel (Gail) Turf, East Moline, Teresa (Stuart) Soliz, Moline, Janis (Joe) Francois, Bloomington, IL, Christine Schwartz (Nick Danek), Silvis, fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and daughter-in-law Diane Murray, East Moline.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry Turf and sisters; Angela Andrews, Mary DeGraeve and Blanche Cobert.
