Funeral services for Dorothy J Lane VanKlaveren, 91, Cleveland, IL, are 2 PM Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Garden, East Moline. Visitation is 1-4PM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the activity fund at Illini Restorative Care. Dorothy died Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis. Dorothy Juanita Stonehouse was born June 16, 1919 in Tipperary, IA, the daughter of Jerry and Eva (Corum) Stonehouse. She married Ernest Lane in Knoxville, IA in 1934. He died in 1959. She later married Dean VanKlaveren in 1963. He passed away in 1979. Dottie was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family. She was known for her pies and homemade bread. She was an excellent seamstress and also enjoyed painting ceramics. She was fondly referred to as "Granny". Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law; Fred and Betty Lane, Osborne, IL, Charles and Evelyn Lane, Colona and Richard and Judy Lane, Geneseo, grandchildren; Robert Lane, William Lane, Ernest Lane, Steven Lane, Michael Lane, Richard Cook, Kenny Cook, Charles Cook, Scott Lane, Brenda Alexander, Donald Lane, Darla Matlick and Josh Lane, plus many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and her sister Karen Renfro, Colfax, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, her husbands, a daughter Nancy Cook and son-in-law Robert Cook.
