Dorvin L Shepard, 82, Silvis, died Friday, February 10, 2012 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis. Committal services are 11AM Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Greenview Memorial Gardens, Mausoleum, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct military honors. There is no visitation. Memorials may be made to the D.A.V. He was born February 13, 1929 in Trenton, MO, the son of H. Lee and Doris Jennings Shepard. He married Charlene Heiland on November 13, 1954. He retired from Alcoa in 1981 after 30 years. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Survivors include son, Delvin (Diana) Shepard, Colona, grandson, Daniel Shepard, Naperville, IL, sisters, Rev. Enid Shepard, Jacksonville, TX and Joyce (Jim) Plavak, Maysville, KY, several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents, sister Zettie Rae Shepard and brothers Nevin and Coral.
