Douglas R. Baze 76, Moline, passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Heartland Health Care, Moline. Memorial services are 1PM, Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial is in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation is from 12 PM Noon until service time. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family. Doug was born on February 17, 1945 in Geneseo, IL, the son of Ralph and Roberta (Wesner) Baze. He graduated from Orion High School, Class of 1963. He married Anita Hohenmauer on October 2, 1971. She died in an automobile accident March 31, 1990. He married Alice Kraklow Smith September 28th, 1991. Doug drove a truck for Allied Stone Quarry for 20 years and also drove for Greater Quad City Auto Auction. He served in the US Marine Corp. Doug was a NASCAR fan with Dale Earnhardt Sr as a favorite, attending many races over the years. He was also a Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. Survivors include his wife Alice, sister, Christine (Robert) Wells, Cambridge, many nieces, nephews and extended family. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.vanhoe.com
