Funeral services for Douglas R. Wassell, 44, of Moline, IL, will be 5:00 pm Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd, East Moline., IL. Visitation will be 3:00 until service time Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Wassell died Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at his home. Douglas was born March 16, 1972, in Silvis, IL, the son of David and Melody Holt Wassell. He married Angela Bunt February 19, 2000, in Rock Island, IL. He worked as a welder at the Rock Island Arsenal. He was a talented and creative artist. He excelled at drawing and enjoyed gardening. He was a loving son, husband, and father. Survivors include his wife, Angela Wassell, Moline; children, Brianna Wassell, GA, Austin Bunt, Moline, and Joseph Wassell, Moline; parents, David and Melody Wassell; Moline; sisters, Becky (Scott) Savage, Yorkville, IL, Shannon (Patrick) Burg, Palm Coast, FL, Wendy (Al) Owczarek, Jacksonville, FL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joseph and Mary Bunt, Moline; sister-in-law, Amy (Jason) Stumphy, Orion, IL; biological mother, Sharon Whitesides(Gary Charnoski) and a step-sister Reggie Charnoski, all of Clinton, IA.
