Funeral services for Duane A. Herron, 80, of Silvis, IL, will be 1:30 pm Friday, June 30, 2023, at St. John's Lutheran Church, East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mr. Herron passed away Monday, June 26, 2023, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

Duane was born November 11, 1942, in Moline, IL, the son of John and Gertrude (Hill) Herron. He married Kathryn Ballard November 20, 1971, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline. Duane was a journeyman electrician and an all around Mr. Fix-it. He had worked for Mid American Energy, Rock Island, John Deere Foundry, East Moline, and retired from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, where he was lovingly referred to as "Dr. Table." He was an avid Cub's fan. He enjoyed fishing and cooking. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Kathy Herron, Silvis; children, Dale Herron (Ted Yanecek), Austin, TX, Julie (Jeff) Christner, Princeton, IA, Jennifer (Josh) Wells, Moline, and Keri (Chris) DeCock, East Moline; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; siblings, Rogene (John) Munson, Rock Island, IL, Dennis (Sharon Lawrence) Herron, Cameron Park, CA, and Joy (Darrell) Rittierodt, Bottineau, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Christine (Steve) Aaseby,; and grandson, Eric Aaseby.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family.

The family would like to thank Pastor Kent Umbarger, the staff of Genesis Hospital Silvis ICU, and Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for their excellent care.
