Funeral services for Duncan J. McGivern, 81, of Silvis, IL, will be 10:00 AM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will by in Roselawn Memorial Estates, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 2:00-5:00PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. McGivern died Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at Trinity Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Duncan was born December 25, 1929 in Moline, IL, the son of Parlan and Nancy "Pearl" McDonald McGivern. He married Marguerite (McLean) DeWitte October 8, 1988 in Davenport, IA. He retired from John Deere Harvester, East Moline, after 38 years of service. Duncan was a "one of a kind" special person who will be missed by all. Survivors include his wife, Marguerite McGivern of Silvis; step children, Mary (Charlie) Benton of Hillsboro, MO, Doyle (Betty) DeWitte of Fenton, MO, 9 step-grandchildren, 8 step-great grandchildren; sisters, Fran (Darwin) Hoover of SD and Karen (Jack) Green of FL; brothers, Leo McGivern of FL and Paul Wayne (Judy) McGivern of Davenport.
