Ed "Eddie" Sandoval 86, of Moline, IL, died Monday, August 4, 2014 at Unity Point-Trinity, Rock Island IL. Funeral services are 10:00 AM Saturday At St Maria Goretti Catholic Church, Coal Valley, IL Entombment is in St Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline, IL, where MAVA will conduct military honors Visitation is 4-7 PM friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM. Memorials may be made to St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, where he was a member. Ed Sandoval was born October 25, 1927 in Silvis, IL, the son of Edubigis and Angelina Hernandez Sandoval. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He married Theresa Goderis on September 18, 1954 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. Ed had worked as a union carpenter for many years and later retired from the maintenance dept at John Deere Administration in Moline. Mr. Sandoval loved people and conversation, and he never met a stranger. He found great pleasure in helping people. He is survived by his wife Theresa; Daughters(spouse), Cindy (Robert) Hallmark, Moline and Tina Sandoval, Springfield, IL and siblings, Tanilo Sandoval, Georgia Herrera and Mercedes Munos, all of East Moline and many nieces and nephews He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Joe, Frank, Santiago, Emidio, Esperanza Hope, Jenny, Norbert and an infant who died while the family moved to the Quad Cities.
