Eddie L. Granell, 67, of Silvis, IL, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00-4:00 PM at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Private services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan, IL. Eddie was born October 25, 1944 in Moline, IL, the son of Glen and Florence Prosen Granell. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He married Marilyn (Yount) Engholm May 19, 1984 in Rock Island, IL. He had worked as a mechanic and truck driver over the years. He was a loving husband, brother, and friend. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Granell of Silvis; sisters, Glenda Wise of Silvis, Sandra (Ed) Lasek, East Moline, Mary Ann (Bill) Bender, East Moline, Barbara Pulford, East Moline; brother, Kent (Nancy) Granell, East Moline; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his best friend Gerry Cruse, and his beloved "4 legged son", Buddy.
