Edmond C. Goethals, 83, of East Moline, IL, passed away Monday, April 1, 2024 at his home.

A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 9, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation a half-hour prior to services. Private burial be in St. John's Cemetery, Rapids City, IL.

Edmond was born October 4, 1940, in Moline, Illinois, a son of George and Julia Verbeke Goethals. He married Linda Lamb on July 10, 1965, in East Moline. She preceded him in death on April 27, 2014.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served as a Firefighter on airbase in France. Edmond was a member of U.A.W., Local 865, and worked for John Deere Harvester for 40 years. He also maintained his barber license and enjoyed cutting hair for family.

Edmond will be remembered as a great provider for his family and a hard worker. He was an avid gardener, and his interests included Native American Culture. He was proud of his custom designed teepee, with eagles representing his close family.

Surviving are his daughter, Lisa Blair, Silvis, IL; and his grandson, Jacob Blair, Bettendorf, IA; and sisters, Dolores Goldermann and Kathleen Ponciano

Edmond was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda; and son, Brian Goethals.
