Funeral services for Edward E. Malone, 82, East Moline, are 10 AM Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Entombment is in St. Mary's Mausoleum. Visitation is 3-6PM Tuesday at Van Hoe funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 5:30PM. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Church, where he was a member. Ed died Friday, November 14, 2008 at Trinity Regional Health Systems, Rock Island. Ed was born August 14, 1926 in Lucas County, IA, the son of Richard and Teresa (Coady) Malone. He married Mary Jean Haddigan on November 28, 1959 in Peoria, IL. He graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. He retired in November of 1984 as a controller from Deere & Company. Edward was a member of St. Anne Church where he had served on the parish council and the finance committee. He enjoyed going for walks and did a lot of volunteer work including delivering meals on wheels. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife Mary Jean, son Mark E. Malone of Chicago, IL, sisters Eileen "Molly" Downs of Denver, CO and Jean (Bernard) Relph of Colfax, IA, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard "Pat" Malone.
