Edward H. Peterhoff, 80, Hampton, died Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA after a 22 month battle with cancer. Visitation is from 9AM until 11 AM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Private services will be held following visitation and burial is in Hampton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House. Edward was born August 2, 1930 in Davenport, the son of Edward and Minnie Peterhoff. He married Jane Greening on August 16, 1963 in Davenport. She died December 5, 2001. He received his Masters in Education and taught at United Township High School in East Moline. He retired as the Chairman of the Social Studies Department in 1989. He had been a Tennis Coach during his tenure there. Ed enjoyed listening to big band music, playing golf, bowling, reading and an occasional trip to the Riverboat Casinos. He served in the US Army. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law; Terrie and Glynn Johnson, Hampton, and Toni and George Hallas of Bettendorf, grandchildren; Tammy, Todd, Travis, Brooke, Trent, Mary Jane, Sherri and Kyle and great grandchildren; Tyler, Kolby, Dominic, Jakob, Talon and Tre, and a sister-in-law Connie Lierman of Bethesda, MD.
