Funeral services for Elaine E. Bert, 73, Rock Island, are 9:30 AM Wednesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rock Island. Private committal will be at St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum at a later date. Visitation is 4-7PM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30PM. Elaine lost her battle with cancer at the home of her daughter, on Saturday, August 23, 2008. Memorials may be made to St. Pius X Church. Elaine Hunt was born August 31, 1934 in East Moline, the daughter of Louis and Katherine Schulte Hunt. She graduated from Alleman High School in 1952. She married Archie Bert on July 18, 1953 at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Elaine was a loving and proud grandmother. She was a devoted member of St. Pius. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, enjoyed playing bingo and cards and wintering in Florida. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Archie, her children and spouses: Dennis and Denise Bert of Rock Island, Denise "Nese" and Tim Beck of Moline, Douglas and Donna Bert of Milan, Dale and Kat Bert of Bettendorf, and Deanna "DeDe" and Mike Warpehoski, Moline, grandchildren: Justin Beck, Douglas Bert Jr., Darci (Mrs. Aaron) Slager, Michelle Bert, Keith Beck, Deric Bert, Zack Bert, Nick Bert, Nicole Dahl, Kyle Beck, Jake Dahl, McKenzie Bert and Rylee Warpehoski, a great grandson Ian Beck, three step grandchildren and 13 step great grandchildren, sisters Delores "Deets" Snauwaert, Littleton, CO, Joyce Haskins, East Moline, a brother Earl Hunt and best friends Pat and Frank Deopere. She is preceded in death by a son Kenneth, granddaughter Jessica, and a brother Kenneth Hunt.
