Eleanor Gilbert, 88, of Silvis, IL, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis. There will be no services. Eleanor Coe was born January 18, 1924 in Mansfield, OH, the daughter of Vernard and Ruth Hewitt Coe. She married Yowland D. Gilbert June 18, 1944 in Mansfield, OH. He died December 24, 2002. During WWII, Eleanor supported the war effort by testing rivets on airplanes. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. Her proudest accomplishments were the successes of her family. Survivors include her daughters, Joyce (Don) Hoover, East Moline, Susan Gilbert (Evan Cowart), Boyd, TX; grandchildren, Robert (Lauren) Hoover, Nathaniel (Amanda) Hoover, Anna (Brandon) Hoover Taets, Ruth Hoover; great-grandchildren, Eli Hoover, Hayden Hoover, and Xander Taets.
