Eleanor R. Lampo, 95, Silvis, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis. Funeral services are 1PM Monday, January 18, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. Entombment is in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is 1 hour prior to services at the church. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, where she was a member or to the East Moline Public Library. Eleanor Gibler was born on June 16, 1920 the daughter of Clyde and Nona (Beach) Gibler. She graduated from Erie High School and attended Moline Business College. Eleanor married Achiel George Lampo on August 25, 1942 in East Moline. He died March 2, 2004. She had worked as a secretary at the Rock Island Arsenal and ran an Avon business for 38 years. She was a member of the Ranchers Bowling league, T.O.P.S, and was a great supporter of the East Moline Public Library. Mrs. Lampo enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading and had done crocheting in earlier years. Eleanor was a kind and gentle soul who will be greatly missed. Survivors include her children, Richard (Pat) Lampo, St. Joseph, IL and Sandra Lampo (Paul Kanabrocki), Lisle, IL, grandchildren, Erica Lampo and Angela (Shane) Hess, great-grandchildren, Haleigh (Michael), Ethan, Kiersten and Kaitlyn and her sister Vey Booth, Reynolds. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and brother Willis Gibler.
