Ella V. Twing, 91, of Silvis, IL, formerly of Port Byron, IL, died Friday, July 16, 2010 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL, is handling arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Port Byron Library. She was born February 23, 1919, in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of William Morris McRoberts. She received her education in the Port Byron Schools. She married James Edward Twing September 24, 1938 in Coe Township, IL, on the family farm. He died in 1994. Ella had been a librarian at the Port Byron Library from 1974-1982. She loved the piano and played for many years at the Fairfield Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Peter Behrendt of Sierra Vista, AZ, Marsha and Larry Twing of Colona, IL; grandchildren (spouse) Thomas (Christine) Nelson, Amy Nelson, Paul (Cindy) Behrendt, Jim Schenk, David (Jennifer) Schenk; 3 great grandsons, Ryan Schenk, Nick Schenk, and Kyle Behrendt; 2 great granddaughters, Audra Nelson and Brook Behrendt.
