Edgar P. York, 87, Moline, died Sunday, March 11, 2007 at Trinity Regional Health Systems, Rock Island. Graveside services are 10 AM Friday, March 16, 2007 at Rock Island National Cemetery, where the East Moline American Legion Post 227 will conduct Military Honors. Anyone wishing to attend services should meet at 9:30 AM at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. At Edgar's request his body will be cremated. Edgar was born November 8, 1919 in Davenport, IA. He retired in the 1960's as a material handler from the former Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Co. He married Evelyn (Beasley) Scherer August 24, 1967. He was a WWII Veteran. Survivors include his wife Evelyn, step-children and spouses Richard and Carol Scherer, Moline, Carrol and Robert Brandt, Bettendorf, and Barbara and Hafez Lorsedi, Mission Viejo, CA, nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
