Funeral services for Eloise C. "Dolly" Sandoval, 91, of Silvis, IL, will be 10 AM Wednesday June 19, 2024, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline, IL. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3 PM. Eloise passed away Wednesday June 12, 2024, at her home, surrounded by family.
Eloise Zaragoza was born December 15, 1932, in Wathena, KS, the daughter of Genaro and Maria Miranda Zaragoza. She was a graduate of Wathena High School, Wathena. She married Emidio Sandoval June 19, 1954 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Silvis. He passed away August 25, 1996.
Dolly was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved her family immensely. She was an avid Cubs fan. Some of her happiest moments were attending her children's and grandchildren's many activities and athletic events. Cooking for Sunday dinners and spending time with her family were two of her greatest joys. She was active in the church Altar and Rosary Society. Dolly will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her children, Jeanette (Roderick) Curtis, Naperville, IL, and Martin "Marty" (Ann) Sandoval, East Moline; sons-in-law, Thomas Walter, Milan, IL and Jeffrey Baker, St. Charles, IL; 9 grandchildren Ashley Sandoval, East Moline, IL; Brianna (Greg) Ridenour, Minooka, IL; Andreas Sandoval, Silvis, IL; Penny (Caleb) Trier, Davenport, IA; Michael Walter, East Moline, IL; Alexandrea Baker, Santa Anna, CA; Matthew Baker, St. Charles, IL; Eloise Curtis, Ann Arbor, MI and Caroline Curtis, Naperville, IL. 5 great grandchildren; brother-in-law Tanilo Sandoval, East Moline, IL and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Karen Baker and Elaine Walter; son, Kelvin Sandoval; sisters, Juanita Sausedo, Lucy Taylor, Mary Martinez; and brothers, Manuel, Ruben, Jessie, and Joseph Zaragoza.
The family would like to thank Dr. Nancy Short and Genesis Hospice staff -Taylor, Kristy and Kelly and health aide Feliciana for all the care, respect and compassion afforded Eloise.
