Elsie P Kerschieter, 89, Moline, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Unity Pointe, Rock Island. Private family services will be held and burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association. Elsie Staelens was born on July 31, 1927 in Belle Plaine, IA, the daughter of August and Palmyra (Steyaert) Staelens. In early years she had worked at Buddy L. Toy Co. and Montgomery Wards. She married Maurice Kerschieter on May 17, 1947 at St. Mary's Church, Moline. She enjoyed quilting and playing bingo. She was a member of the Quilting Club and the VFW Auxiliary. Survivors include children, Kelley (Debbie) Kerschieter, Rapids City, IL and Kerry (Ann) Kerschieter, Moline, twelve grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Paula Kerschieter, Rapids City. She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice in 1998, four sons and her sister.
