Elsie M. "Tiny" Smith, 82, of East Moline, IL, died Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, IL. Private services will be held at National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Elsie Mowery was born May 4, 1929 in Burlington, IA the daughter of Ira and Elsie Parsons Mowery. She married Lewis "Red" Smith May 12, 1948 in Kahokia, Mississippi. He died August 4, 1970. She had been a loving homemaker. Elsie had been the first woman Commander of the East Moline American Legion Post 227. Survivors include her daughter, Sandi Ward of East Moline, grandchildren, Doni Moliterno and Eddie Mowery; great grandchildren, Nicolaus Young and Cody Moliterno; great-great-grandchildren, Gracie, Hayden, Payton, and Kurt.
