Emiel "Sonny" Fluegel Sr., 71, of East Moline, IL, died Sunday, September 11, 2011 at his home. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00PM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Private graveside services will be held at the National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. Sonny was born May 23, 1940 in Rock Island, IL, the son of Henry and Helen Van Loo Fluegel. He married Justina Myetich in April of 1962. He later married Patricia Boss November 10, 1973 in Rock Island. He served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Servus Rubber, Rock Island after 29 ½ years of service. He was an Avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan. He loved his dog Gizmoe. Survivors include his wife, Patricia R. Fluegel of East Moline; children, Michelle (Lyle) Felton Jr. of Moline, Emiel "Mike" (Denise) Fluegel of Davenport, IA, Kimberly Foiles of Silvis, IL, Robin Weber of Rock Island, Mary K. Fluegel of East Moline, Nadine (Gary) Brinker of East Moline, Patrick (Phyliss) Myetich, of West Palm, FL, Delores (Paul) Melton of East Moline, Dawn (Doug) Utley-Westerman of Garden Prarie, IL, Mike (Wilma) Utley of Bridgeton, MO, Robert Utley of Bridgeton, MO; 36 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 2 more on the way; brothers, Robert Fluegel of Colona, IL, Richard (Jolene) Geneseo, IL.
