Funeral services for Emma Rynard, 95, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Thursday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Thursday. Mrs. Rynard died Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Unity Point, Rock Island. Emma McMurdo was born April 22, 1919, in Sedalia, MO, the daughter of John O. and Sara Wallington McMurdo. She married Ray A. Rynard May 29, 1939, in Oltha, KS. He died January 18, 1990. She and her husband owned and operated M&R Shoe and Sportswear, East Moline. She later worked for La Rose and Farrell & Farrell's, Moline. Emma had been an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, East Moline, where she had taught Sunday School and been a member of the church circles. She was past president of the John Deere PTA and the East Moline Women's Club. She had been a Girl Scout Leader and Counselor. She was past president of the Beulah Yancy Music Club and Honor Queen of Job's Daughters, Sedalia. Survivors include her daughter, Janice (Bill) Cassling, East Moline; grandson, Eric Cassling; sister, Ruth Cornwall, Warsaw, MO; brothers, John A. McMurdo, Sedalia, and James O. (Mary Ann) McMurdo, Monroe City, MO; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Yvonne Rains, Mary Margaret McMurdo, and Betty Bergman; brother, Thomas McMurdo.
