Erin Marie Castens, 37, of Bettendorf, IA, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Genesis East, Davenport, IA, as a result of a severe asthmatic attack. Memorial services will be 7:00 pm Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 3:00-7:00 pm Wednesday, prior to services. Erin Castens was born October 17, 1978, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Jeff and Jean Schulte Yerkey. Erin worked at Teske Pet and Garden Center, Bettendorf. She was a loving daughter and a wonderful mother who loved her children deeply. She had a special place in her heart for pets and was an animal lover. She had an amazing gift for photography, and enjoyed adult coloring books. Those left to honor her memory include her children, Christian Castens, Caitlin Simon, and Brayden Keith, all of Bettendorf; parents, Jeff and Jean Yerkey, Rock Island; step mother, Becky McMains, WA, sisters, Jen (Randy) Roth, Colona, and Sean Yerkey, Rock Island; half sister, Katie (Rob) Welch, WA; half brothers, Seth, Ben, and Corey Castens, WA; grandparents, Len and Nancy Schulte, East Moline, Lyn Duke, Moline, Roger and Linda Yerkey, Milan, IL; nieces and nephews, Dalton and Devon Roth, Azreal Castens, Rufus, Willow, and Atticus Welch; best friend, Becky Taratuta, MO; special friends, Brian Kinney, Troy Simon, Darin Keith, and the Teske family.
