Funeral services for Erma De Doncker, 79, of Hampton, IL, will be 10:00 AM Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hampton, IL. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be 3-6 PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL, where a rosary will be recited at 3 PM. Mrs. De Doncker died Wednesday, January 18, 2006 at her home. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hampton or Beacon of Hope Hospice. Erma Huyvaert was born January 22, 1926 in Phoenix, Alabama, the daughter of Victor and Louise (MacMurrain) Huyvaert. She married Ernest L. De Doncker July 20, 1946 in East Moline. He died February 17, 1999 She retired in 1988 from AMETEK, East Moline. She enjoyed gardening, going for walks and traveling. Erma loved the companionship of her dog "Bonnie" but the light of her life was her grandson, Mark. Survivors include: daughters and son-in-law, Diana Carson, East Moline, Carol and Mike Roberts, Port Byron; grandson, Mark Archibald, Rock Island; sisters Doris Schulte, Peoria, AZ, Katherine Schorpp, Lyndon, IL, Margaret "Margie" Wietlispach, Sterling, IL, and Vicki Sue Huyvaert, East Moline; brother, Lawrence Versluys, Silvis. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; step mother, Susan Huyvaert; sisters, Patricia Huyvaert, Virginia Adams and Norva De Poorter; son-in-law, Donn Carson.
