"Today you will be with me in heaven." Luke 23:43 The Lord called Erma T. Lazenby, 98, to her heavenly home Thursday, December 12, 2013. Mrs. Lazenby was a long-time resident of Moline and most recently resided in Rock Island. Funeral services will be 1:00PM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, IL. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Monday. Erma Anderson was the first of five children born in Chicago, IL, to Everett and Torborg Johansson Anderson. Her parents each immigrated from Sweden and later met and married in Chicago. Erma married Robert M. Lazenby in 1947 in Chicago, and he preceded her in death in 1955. She retired from Rock Island Arsenal in 1985. Erma is lovingly remembered by survivors including her son, Robert F. (Kimberly) Lazenby II, Moline; 5 grandchildren, Cassandra (Mike) Kehl, Ericka (Nicholas) Sallach, Ian Anderson, Robert F. Lazenby III, and Thomas Lazenby; 7 great grandchildren; brother, George (Betty) Anderson, Fairview Glade, TN; and many affectionate nieces and nephews. Our family would like to thank our special friend, Donna Eachute, who provided many hours of piano concerts and sing-alongs, and the wonderful staff at The Fort Armstrong and Hospice Compassus for years of friendship, care, and memories. Erma was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Lynda Anderson; brother, Everett "Lefty" Anderson, Jr.; and sisters Florence Long, and Violet Anderson.
