Funeral services for Erma Shorten, 84, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 PM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Mrs. Shorten died Friday, December 19, 2008 at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, East Moline, where she had been a member. Erma Olson was born November 4, 1924 in Story County, IA, the daughter of Nels and Elsie (Bralen) Olson. She married John Shorten October 22, 1948 in Council Bluffs, IA. He died December 2, 1978. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She had been very proud of her grandchildren. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Bud Felts of Davenport, IA; son, Bob Shorten of Milan; grandchildren (spouse), Nicholas Shorten, Michael (Jen) Shorten, Brian Felts, John (Ashley) Felts, David Felts; step-grandchildren (spouse), Tammy (John) Hoyman and Tom (Kate) Felts; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Shorten, Seth and Kiera Felts; Anna and Jack Hoyman, Max Felts; brother and sister-in-law, Junior and Arlene Olson of Pontiac, MI.
