Funeral services for Esther Rasso, 93, of East Moline, IL, will be noon, Monday, March 10, 2025, at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 AM until noon Monday, prior to services at the funeral home. Mrs. Rasso passed away, Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

Esther Ponciano was born April 7, 1931, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Felipe and Concha Perez Ponciano. She married Daniel D.J. Rasso May 16, 1953, in Chicago, IL. He passed away April 4, 2013.

She worked for the Rock Island Railroad at age 16 as a laborer for 33 years. She also worked for the Daily Dispatch as an inserter.

She was an original charter member of the VFW Post 8890 Auxiliary. She was resident of Campbell's Island for 74 years and was a volunteer for the Campbell's Island Youth Center. She enjoyed ceramics, a variety of puzzles, playing bingo with her sisters, and collecting Mickey Mouse items. She also enjoyed spending time with her cats and her family.

She is survived by four generations. Survivors include her children, Donna Fitch, East Moline, and Roland Rasso, Rock Island, IL; granddaughter, Michelle Hanes, Davenport, IA; great grandchildren, Omar Hunigan Jr., and ShaRee (Brooks) Swanson; great great grandchildren, Azaylea Barnhart, Lamar Hunigan, and Alexander Swanson; sister, Mary Rangel (Larry Branham) Silvis; and brother, Cruz (Kathleen) Ponciano, Milan, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Roger Fitch; and siblings, Rose Terronez, Lucille Bernal, Pauline Mendoza, Joe Ponciano, and John Ponciano.
