Funeral services for Etta C. Fox, 88, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Saturday at the First Baptist Church, East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 3:00-6:00 PM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Etta died Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis. Memorials may be made to the Senior Care Ministries of First Baptist Church, East Moline. Etta Brummer was born August 17, 1920 in Ralls County, MO, the daughter of Vincent and Iva (Love) Brummer. She married Louis R. Fox August 18, 1934 in Hannibal, MO. He died in 1975. She and her husband left Hannibal in the late 1940's to live in the Quad City Area. They had been members of the First Baptist Church since coming to East Moline. Outside of the home Etta worked for F.W. Woolworths and Schlegel of Moline. She later worked and retired from the Arsenal Cafeteria, where she had been a Salad Maker and Line Server. Etta was always a giving person. She liked to crochet, Knit and embroider. She would make homemade jelly and give it to her family and friends. She had been active at her church, among many things she had been on the Deacon Board and a member of the American Baptist Women's Group. Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Etta and Dale Adams of East Moline, IL; son and daughter-in-law, Louis J. "Joe" and Mary Fox of Moline; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Zadie Campbell of Poplar Bluff, MO; numerous nieces and nephews.
