IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Etta Marie
(Fox) Adams
June 4, 1940 – November 15, 2025
Etta Marie (Fox) Adams , 85, of East Moline, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 15.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 20th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, with visitation prior to services from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Thursday. Interment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of East Moline.
Born on June 4, 1940, in Hannibal, Missouri, Etta was raised in a loving Christian home where she learned early to walk closely with the Lord. After moving to East Moline with her family in 1950, she became a member of First Baptist Church of East Moline and remained a faithful and active member for the rest of her life. Her faith guided her every day, and her church family—especially Pastor Dan Yeager and his wife, Cheryl held a special place in her heart.
In June of 1958, Etta married the love of her life, Dale Adams, with whom she shared 57 years of love, joy, and laughter. She was a proud graduate of UTHS's Class of 1958 and treasured the friendships she formed there.
Etta enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting, reading, and cheering on the Chicago White Sox. She also delighted in learning to play the piano and singing in the church choir. She held many jobs throughout her life, but she was most passionate about selling real estate and helping families find their homes.
Above all else, Etta cherished her family. She gave them her whole heart—unconditional, unwavering—and she found immense pride in the beautiful lives they built.
She is survived by her children, Mitchell (Tonya) Adams of Colona, IL and Michelle (Robert) Schneden of East Moline, IL; her grandchildren, Derek (Lindsay Dinkins) Adams of Winston-Salem, NC, Jordan (Elizabeth) Adams of Chicago, IL, Adam (Sarah) Schneden of Park View, IA and Samantha (Oscar Ruvalcaba) Schneden, of Moline, IL; and her great-grandchildren, Amelia & Scarlett Schneden and Carter Ruvalcaba. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Fox; nephews Joe (Anita) Fox of Moline, IL and John (Amie) Fox of Talladega, AL; and many dear friends.
Etta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale Adams; her brother, Louis J. Fox; and her parents, Louis R. and Etta Fox.
Etta Marie lived a life of faith, gratitude, and love. She will be remembered for her gentle strength, her generous spirit, and the unwavering devotion she showed to her family and her Lord. Her legacy of kindness and faith will continue to bless all who knew her.
