Eugene C. "Gene" Wadsager, 79, of Moline, IL, passed away Friday September 16, 2022 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 21, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Interment with military honors presented by East Moline American Legion, Post 227, will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 20, at the funeral home. Memorials may be to the American Lung Association or Honor Flight of the Quad Cities.

Gene was born August 6, 1943 in Moline, IL, a son of Hans and Anna Richards Wadsager. He graduated from UTHS, Class of 1961. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962 to 1966.

Gene retired from John Deere Harvester in January of 2000.

He married Shirley L. Ruhnow Logan in April of 1986. He was previously married to Linda Bolmer.

He enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley, of Moline; children, Dr. Heather L. Dunn (Dr. Blair Foreman), Bettendorf, and Christopher R. (Kimberly) Wadsager, Davenport; grandchildren, Mason R. Dunn, Norah C.L. Dunn and Katlin M. Wadsager; step grandchildren, Zachary (Meaghan) Martin, Kambra Jones, Brandon (Rebecca) Jones; and five step great-grandchildren.

Gene was preceded in death by his father, Hans H. Wadsager; mother, Anna Griffin; step-father, Elmer Griffin; and his brother, Herbert Wadsager.
