Memorial services for Eugene J. "Geno" Leemans, 79, of Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Colona, IL. Interment will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Mr. Leemans died Friday, December 5, 2014, at Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, IA. Geno was born October 6, 1935, in Moline, IL, the son of Joseph and Madeline Pype Leemans. He was a graduate of Alleman High School, Rock Island, IL. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He married Lois Konitzer May 3, 1958, at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. She died November 4, 2009. He had been a carpenter, working out of Local 166, Rock Island. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Laurie and Bill Vroman of Andalusia, IL, Carolyn and Bryce Winkler of Virginia Beach, VA, and Ann and Dave Udelhofen of Dubuque, IA; sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Christine Leemans of Le Claire, IA, Tom and Elizabeth Leemans of East Moline, Bob and Lisa Leemans of Galva, IL; grandchildren, Chad, Kaylee, Rachel, Kristin, Mike, Brian, Shelby, Emily, Jacob, and Matt; sisters and brother-in-law, Susie and Al Aubry, Moline, and Edna Geriminee, FL; brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert (Yvonne) Leemans, Moline, Art Leemans, Moline, and Dan (Janice) Leemans, Moline. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Clarissa Cook Hospice House.
