Funeral services for Euphrasia VanSteenhuyze, 91, formerly of East Moline and Silvis, are 9:00 AM Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. Entombment is in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is 4:00-7:00PM Wednesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 4PM. Euphrasia died Friday, January 16, 2009 at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis. A memorial fund has been established. Euphrasia was born March 2, 1917 in East Moline, the daughter of Octave and Elizabeth Callewaert VanSteenhuyze. She had been a member of St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society Circle 3 and various organizations and clubs throughout the years. She worked at Desaulniers and later retired after 40 years with Bituminous Insurance Co. Survivors include a niece and nephew Marcia (Duane) Otto of Fenton, MO and Jim (Angela) Amos of Murfreesboro, TN and great nieces and nephews Joe Covemaker, and Macaira (John) Gellerstedt, of Rock Island, and Delaney, Elise and Jacob Amos of Murfreesboro.
