Funeral services for Evelyn M. Johnson, 86, of East Moline, IL, will be 2:00PM Saturday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, Silvis, IL. Visitation will be from noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Johnson died Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Forest Hill Health and Rehab Center, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family. Evelyn Fleminck was born March 21, 1923 the daughter of Fred and Lillian Wildermuth Fleminck. She married Benn Cooper (no children). She later married Kenneth H. Johnson December 28, 1944. They had six children. Kenneth and Eveyln were the proprietors of Kenny's T.V. Sales and Service, East Moline. The Johnson's ran the business from 1944 - 1979, when it was taken over by their son, Marlin and later on by son, Dallas. The store closed in 1991. Evelyn was an avid royal rummy player and a bingo enthusiast. In her early years she loved bowling in leagues at the former Regal Lanes in East Moline. Evelyn loved to travel also. Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Vince Johnson of Kentucky, Duane Johnson of Missouri, Durwin and Rebecca Johnson of East Moline; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Bernice Johnson of East Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth, sons, Charles, Marlin, Dallas, grandchildren, Daylon and Kenny Joe, special cousin and friend, Bob Stang.
