Graveside services for Evelyn M. King, 86, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:30 am Thursday at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Anyone wishing to attend the graveside service should be at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd, East Moline, by 10:00 am. Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. King died Sunday, October 2, 2016, at her home. Evelyn VanThorre was born August 29, 1930, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Maurice and Florence Teerlink VanThorre. She married John "Jack" King September 20, 1947, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, East Moline. He died March 27, 1999. She worked for the National Tea Co., Randall's Food, and County Market. Survivors include her children, Susan King-Hanneman, Silvis, IL, John (Mindy) King, East Moline, Paul (Tama) King, Silvis, and David King, Davenport, IA; grandchildren, Garrett (Janelle) King, Joseph and Jordan King, Jami (Ryan) Gonzalez, and Jessica King; great grandchildren, Stella and Jon Gonzalez, and James King; brothers, Roger (Jimmie) VanThorre, Fort Collins, CO, and George (Millie) VanThorre, East Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Irene DeLanghe, brother, Paul VanThorre. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
