Evelyn Reyna, 91, formerly of East Moline, died Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Pepper Family Hospice Home, Barrington, IL. Funeral services are 10 AM Wednesday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Entombment is in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is 4-7PM Tuesday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 3:30PM. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline, where she was a member. Evelyn Negrete was born on February 2, 1922 in Silvis, IL, the daughter of Francisco and Elpedia (Castro) Negrete. She married Manuel Reyna on November 6, 1936 in Peoria, IL. He died January 3, 1985. Evelyn had worked as a cook at several area restaurants. She enjoyed reading, dancing and was an incredible cook. Survivors include her children, Marjorie (Manuel) Lopez, East Moline, Ruby (Charles) Sandoval, East Moline, and Teresa Cruces (Jaime Aguilar), Elgin, IL, eighteen grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 24 great-great grandchildren, and daughter-in-law Lolly Reyna, East Moline. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by sister Lupe Gomez, brother Raymond Negrete, son Ron Reyna, daughter Betty Hernandez, two great grandsons, and her parents.
