Obituary

Funeral services for Evelyn F. Wildermuth, 84, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00AM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Thursday (today) at the funeral home. Burial will be 11:30 AM Saturday in South Lawn Cemetery, Seymour, IA. Mrs. Wildermuth died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, with family by her side. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Assocation. Evelyn Mattly was born March 25, 1928 in Wayne County, IA, the daughter of Tell and Mary Foster Mattly. She married John Cornmesser December 21, 1944 in Corydon, IA. He died December 24, 1975. She later married James Wildermuth July 7, 1977. She retired from the former Case/IH Plant, East Moline in 1995, after 27 years of service. Evelyn enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing cards, collecting thimbles, listening to old country music, shopping, going to the casino, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren. There was no greater joy to her than a new baby coming into the family. Survivors include her husband Jim Wildermuth of East Moline; daughters, Pamela Kallestad, Peru, IA, Annette Granack (Juan Gallegos), East Moline; sons, Johnnie (Julie) Cornmesser, Davenport, Bruce (Connie) Cornmesser, Moline, IL; step daughters, Vicky (Wayne) Carrick, Charleston, SC, Connie Sumpt, Fort Dodge, IA; 24 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Donna (Albert) Cobb, Quincy, IL; brothers, Dean (Rose) Mattly, Plano, IA, Bill (Maxine) Mattly, Seymour, Marty Mattly, Seymour; daughter-in-law,Tammy Cornmesser, East Moline; son-in-law, Jerry Pauwels, Silvis. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, grandson, Todd Wishmeyer, daughter, Mary Pauwels, son, Joe Cornmesser, sister, Maxine Storm, brothers, Verle, Raymond, Dick, and Bob Mattly.
