Funeral services for Everett L. Ackerman, 74 of East Moline, IL, will be 3:00PM Sunday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd. East Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM Sunday until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Streator, IL, at 1:00 PM Tuesday. Mr. Ackerman died Thursday, June 30, 2005 at Forest Hill Health and Rehabilitation Center, East Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. Everett was born April 29, 1931 in Griswold, IA, the son of Floyd and Cecil (Rupp) Ackerman. He married Joyce Mount August 2, 1952 in Elliott, IA. He founded and operated Mr.Tax of America, Rock Island, IL, where he had worked as a CPA. Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Jim Huffman of Pontiac, IL, Cecilia and Steve Croegaert of Saunemin, IL; sons and daughters-in-law, Tracy and Sally Ackerman of Winlock, WA, Joe and Beth Ackerman of LeClaire, IA, Craig and Penny Ackerman of Moline, IL; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Roy Newburg of Atlantic, IA, brother and sister-in-law, Lavern and Karen Ackerman of Atlantic, IA; and his "best friend" his dog, Taluka. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Judy Lynn Ackerman, 2 great-grandchildren and a sister, Hazel Taylor.
