Flora Gay Speidel , 90, of Colona, IL, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Celebrate Senior Living, Moline, IL.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24th, at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline, IL, with visitation one hour prior. Private inurnment will be at a later date at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Moline.

Flora Gay Coffman was born November 28, 1933, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Pete and Vernetta (Lane) Coffman. She graduated from U.T.H.S., Class of 1951. Gay married Robert "Bob" Speidel on January 10, 1954 in San Diego, CA. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1993.

Gay was an Executive Secretary for John Deere Insurance Co. for many years. In earlier years, she was active in Cub Scouts as a Den Mother for several years. She enjoyed dancing and swimming.

Surviving are her son, Robert "Bob" Speidel, East Moline; daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Steve Allmendinger, Ohio; grandchildren, Matthew, Michelle, Kristine, Rhiannon and Dalton; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, and James.

Gay was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and parents, Pete and Vernetta.
