Funeral services for Frances "Fran" Jacobs, 88, of East Moline, IL, will be 10:00 am Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery, Moline, IL. Visitation will be 3:00-6:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Jacobs died Sunday, June 28, 2015, at Genesis, Silvis. Fran Massa was born November 11, 1926, in Jerome, IA (Appanoose, County), the daughter of Domenick and Anna (Giacomelli) Massa. She was a graduate of Centerville High School and Moline Business School. She married Edward C. Jacobs August 2, 1947. He died June 14, 2014. She worked as a secretary for John Deere and at Well's School in the cafeteria. She had been PTA President at Well's School, member of the Holiday Ramblers Camping Club and Isaac Walton League. Fran was a lover of the outdoors. She enjoyed walks, birdwatching, and camping. A special interest to Fran and frequent destinations when traveling with her husband were visits to lighthouses. She had a congenial personality which made anyone she knew feel special. She especially cherished visits with her family and had a loving rapport with her grandchildren. Survivors include her son, William "Bill" (Marcia) Jacobs, Coal Valley, IL; grandchildren, Adam (Stephanie) Jacobs, Nathan Jacobs and Ian Jacobs; great grandchildren, Garrett and Charlie Jacobs. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Frank, Joe King, Barney, and Edward Massa. Memorials may be made to the Children's Therapy Center.
