Funeral services for Frances E. Paskvan, 93, of East Moline, IL, will be 8:00AM Saturday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Albia, IA. Visitation will be 2:00-4:00PM Friday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 1:30PM. Mrs. Paskvan died Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at Illini Restorative Care Center, Silvis, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church. Frances Grubisich was born July 29, 1916, in rural Albia, IA, the daughter of Jack and Frances (Kruzic) Grubisich. She was raised on a farm, graduated from Albia High School in 1935, and taught in a one room schoolhouse. She commuted on horseback. She married Matthew A. Paskvan August 26, 1939, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Albia. They moved to East Moline in 1939. At age 40 she graduated from Hurley School of Beauty and worked as a licensed beautician for over 40 years. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and baking. She had been a member of the St. Anne Altar Society. Spending time with her family and friends was a large part of her life. She is survived by her children and spouses, Francine and Steve DeSplinter of East Moline, Jerry and Sandy Paskvan of Moline; grandchildren and spouses, Jason and Cathy Paskvan, Molly and Kent Akers, Michael and Ashley DeSplinter, Teresa DeSplinter and fiancé Todd Green; great-grandchildren, Haley and Fox, and a new great-grandson expected in January; sister, Mary Mortensen of Hiawatha, IA; brother, Tony Grubisich of Lake Okeechobee, CA; many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 62 years, two brothers in infancy, and 2 sisters.
