Frank Kraklow 59, East Moline, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at his home. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 3 PM Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Visitation is from 1PM until service time. Private family inurnment will be in Roselawn Memorial Estate, Moline. A memorial fund has been established. Frank was born on May 22, 1955 in Moline, the son of G. Dale and Bertha (Cooke) Kraklow. He attended UTHS and Black Hawk College. Frank met the love of his life and soul mate, Donna Lee in 1978. Having professed their love for each other for over a decade, they consummated their marriage and officially spoke their vows on April 7, 1989. Frank and Donna recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in Jamaica, with 16 friends. Frank loved the game of golf and claimed the job of scorekeeper for every round he played, especially when he was playing Donna. Frank was a renowned educator and curator of a vast collection of Rock River Valley Historical Indian Artifacts, which will be placed in the Blackhawk State Historical Site Museum in Rock Island for future generations to enjoy. Frank was a life long member of the Illowa Archeological Society, which was founded by his father. Since the passing of his father, Frank has carried on G. Dale's passion by continuing to write the book his father started. Frank retired in 2011 from John Deere after 35 years with the company. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Donna, siblings, Alice (Doug) Baze, Milan, Franny Miller, Haleyville, AL, Paula Cooke (Jeff Goddard) New Zealand, Mary Ann (Mike) Bradley, Buckeye, AZ, Carol (Gary) Krantz, Hillsdale, IL, Jim (Shelly) Kraklow, Moline, June Fulton (Randy Purtle), Davenport and Amy (Mike) McConley, Reno, NV, numerous nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Lisa Lee, Silvis and his special mushroom and artifact hunting buddies, Randy DeDecker and Rusty Fulton.
