Obituary

Funeral services for Frank J. Mankoski, 92, of East Moline, IL, will be 1:00 PM Thursday at St. Anne Catholic Church, East Moline. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Wednesday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM. Mr. Mankoski died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at his home. Memorials may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church. Frank was born October 7, 1917 in rural East Moline, the son of Frank and Mary Novakowski Mankoski. He married Helen Nalevanko May 6, 1950 in St. Anne Catholic Church. Frank obtained his engineering degree from Alliance College, Erie, PA. He worked at the Rock Island Arsenal, Reynolds Engineering, and then as a tool design engineer for International Harvester, East Moline, for 30 years, retiring in 1976. He is a life long member of St. Anne Catholic Church, the East End Club, Moline Vikings Club, and the Friends Circle Club. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and rolle bolle. Survivors include his wife of almost 60 years, Helen Mankoski of East Moline, daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Kirby Marks of Thornton, CO, Kathy and Bruce Meadows, Rochester, MN, Rita and Vince Weinert of East Moline; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, sister, Mary Duytchaever of Moline, IL, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Agnes and Robert Gibson of Albia, IA; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Kevin Meadows, sister, Anna McMillin, and brother, Steve Mankoski. Online condolences may left for the family at www.vanhoe.com
