Frank F. Painter, 94, of East Moline, IL went to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 12, 2018. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Friday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Funeral services are noon Saturday at the funeral home, and burial is at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline.

Frank was born August 28, 1924, in Geneseo, IL, one of eleven children born to William and Beulah Fones Painter. He served in the US Army during WWII, where he was stationed in England. He married Darleen M. Dupr é April 15, 1950, at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Geneseo, IL. She passed away December 19, 2000. Frank was a graduate of Geneseo High School Class of 1942. He retired as a Sales Engineer from Bendix, Davenport, IA. He then worked for Pace Development and retired from Peco Industries through the Rock Island Arsenal.

Frank loved spending his days walking his dogs, attending the YMCA, and watching the Cubs win. He was a lover of animals and enjoyed feeding all the neighborhood wildlife.

Survivors include his children, Steven Painter, Havana, IL and Therese James, East Moline; grandchildren, Megan, Katie, Adam, Nathan, and Kristin.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Kathleen "Kip" Majeski; sisters, Gertrude, Lida, Dorothy, Boots, Elnora; brothers, Marion, Bill, James "Lefty", Art, and John; and his dachshunds Sam and Frank.

Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan, IL.
