Frank was born October 1, 1950, in Moline, IL, the son of Frank Anthony Serra Sr. and Leona Carr Serra. He married Theresa Girt in 1970 and they had 6 children. He later married Debra Young on July 27, 2022. Frank attended Augustana College and Drake University, and became a pharmacist. He opened up The Medicine Stop in East Moline in the early 1980's. After his dad's death, he closed The Medicine Stop and worked full time at Frank's Pizza where he and his three brothers owned and operated the pizza business. After taking some time off from pharmacy, he recertified as a pharmacist and was employed by Walgreens for many years. Eventually, Frank retired from Walgreens pharmacy and focused more on running his pizza restaurant.
Frank enjoyed running the pizza business with his brothers and serving the public the best pizza around since 1955. Frank and his brothers are very proud of Frank's Pizza that their dad started. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, and playing with his dogs. He loved his family. He helped his kids when they needed him the most. Frank also liked to read his Bible and play games on his computer.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Serra, children, Frank Serra III (Melissa), IA, Jason Serra (Mandi), John Serra, Nicole Serra, all from Silvis, and Christina (Mark) Neri, Chicago; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and one on the way, and his brothers, Raymond R. Serra, Morris L Serra, and Joseph Serra, all from Silvis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Matthew Charles Serra, and step children, Jeremy and Jennifer Young.
A special thank you to Craig Hardy Jr, Meagan Serra, and Mark Breitenbach, for acting quickly and courageously, giving us an extra day to say goodbye. We are forever grateful!
