Funeral services for Frank H. Simpson, 86, of Rock Island, IL, will be 12:30PM Monday at the Van Hoe Funeral Home, Ltd., East Moline, IL. Visitation will be 10:00AM until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, IL. Mr. Simpson died Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, in Peoria, IL after a brief illness. Memorials my be made to the family for the purchase of memorial trees to be planted at his favorite golf course. Frank was born July 28, 1929, in Moline IL, the son of Jay and Margaret Houston Simpson. He married Jeanne Wells on December 5, 1952 at First Christian Church, East Moline, IL. Frank was an avid golfer and loved to play his trumpet. He was a founding member of the Wind Jammers band. Frank enjoyed working with his hands especially making golf clubs, model ships and planes. He was a life long member of First Christian Church. Survivors are his wife Jeanne, daughter Jeri VanderVinne, of Moline and son, Mark (Jody) Simpson of N.C.; grandchildren: Amy DeWitte, Kristin (Jon) Williams, Jay and Kyle Simpson; great grandchildren: Alyssa, Grant, J.D. and Tucker and his sister M.
