Funeral services for Frank VanOverschelde, 86, Moline, are 1 PM Monday, at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline. Entombment is in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is 2-5 PM Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established. Frank was born June 24, 1919 in East Moline, the son of Maurice and Selma VanOverschelde. He married Rose Parker who preceded him in death and he later married Carlene Hardi who also preceded him in death. Frank retired from Grounds maintenance at Augustana College, Rock Island. He was avid Detroit Tigers Fan and loved sports. He served in the US Army during WWII. He was very fond of his dog Mugsy who died earlier this year. Survivors include daughter Judy Ritti, Mission Viejo, CA, son Dave VanOverschelde, Moline a stepdaughter Patricia Hardi, Orion, several grand and great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews include a special nephew Larry Smiddy, Silvis. In addition to his wives, a daughter Sharon Miller, sister Laura Napiwoski, and brothers Taz and George precede him in death.
