Fred L. Greubel, 92, East Moline, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Genesis Illini, Silvis. Funeral services are 11 AM Saturday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd,. East Moline. Entombment is in St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is from 10 AM until service time. Memorials may be made to the family.

Fred was born on March 6, 1926 in Milo, IA, the son of John and Mary (Heinen) Greubel. He married Norma J. Boles on June 11, 1949 in Melcher, IA. She died February 2, 2000. Fred farmed in Iowa, and later retired in 1988 as a press operator from the former Case IH, East Moline. Fred was a member of UAW Local 1304. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and driving his 2002 Ford Thunderbird Convertible.

Survivors include his children, Connie Cain, Peoria, Marion (Chuck) Rowland, East Moline and Gary (Erica) Greubel, Coal Valley, 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and a sister Marjorie (Evan) Harkine, MN.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, 2 brothers and special friend Joan Scammon.
